State of Alaska Extends Food Assistance Signup Deadline
The State of Alaska Department of Public Assistance (DPA) recently extended food assistance signup for families that may be eligible for the Pandemic–Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Program. The Food Bank of Alaska is also offering assistance to help families sign up for the extended food benefits. Families that received free lunches or SNAP benefits are eligible. The enrollment deadline has been extended to September 30th, 2020 but families are encourage to submit their information by the 15th of September. Submit your application electronically. Click the button below to start the electronic P-EBT application. There is a short screening that must be completed before accessing the application, if eligible.
The additional money was allocated for families to buy food due to COVID-19 related school closures during the 2020-2021 school year.

Families who receive SNAP benefits will automatically receive P-EBT benefits by September 4th. These benefits will be automatically added to SNAP households’ Quest EBT cards. No application or additional action is required. These benefits will be added on a rolling basis, so not all SNAP recipients will receive them at the same time. If you have questions regarding your benefits, be sure to contact the Department of Public Assistance.
The Food Bank of Alaska announced via Facebook that the DPA was extending the deadline to signup.
Families can check their balance to ensure they have received these benefits by visiting freshebt.org, or by calling the AK Quest Card Hotline at (888) 997-8111. You can also text 'PEBT' to (907) 891-8913, or call (907) 222-3119.
